We at AIBQ are striving to make collecting comic books a safer, and more enjoyable, hobby for the novice and casual collector. In recent years, the dramatic increase in collectible comic book prices has seen a concurrent rise in tampering with the original books.

The major changes made to a book are in the field of restoration. A restored book, done by an amateur, is usually quite evident upon the most cursory of examinations. A professional restoration, though not as obvious, does not totally degrade the value of the comic book, and in most cases, leaves the book in a very collectible state. A book with an incorrect cover, or a few pages missing, is very hard to spot. The novice or amateur collector, who usually will never have seen another copy of the comic book he is purchasing, can be easy game for this type of counterfeit. Our mission at AIBQ will be to help safeguard individuals from receiving incomplete and counterfeit comics.

In order for the novice or amateur collector to make a purchase with confidence, actually seeing a complete and whole example of his intended purchase is mandatory. Due to the frail nature and rarity of most collectible comic books, the ability for most people to acquire a true copy and flip through it, is not feasible. With this in mind, we at AIBQ are building up an archive of true copies for the collector to study.

Within this site, you may look up a copy of a comic that you wish to, or have already purchased, and use it as a reference to check the validity of your own comic.
